Six colored belts are used to signify grades in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & Mixed Martial Arts Black Belt Virginia, Washington, Maryland. The belts, in ascending order categories are: white, blue, purple, brown, black and red. An athlete must be at least 16 years to go blue belt. Some academies divide the system additional classification into four stages signified by different belt colors – white, yellow, orange and green. Although red is the highest rank in belts, only members of the Gracie family, the pioneers of Jiu-Jitsu, are known to have advanced to this level.
Most, if not all, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & Mix Martial Arts Black Belt athletes in Virginia, Washington, Maryland, aspire to be holding a black belt. An athlete must be at least 18 years receive a black belt. And this is not enough, the athlete must work hard to achieve. An athlete for the Black Belt is to practice as an athlete and as a trainer. The level of perfection required increases with the notes. This is a promotion more difficult with higher grades.
