What a great group 4 horsemen could Flair, Arn, Malenko and Benoit have been if not for pushing WCW NWO only?
For pure capacity ring, yeah, it was the best incarnation of riders. But the riders were more than great wrestlers, they were personalities. During their heyday (the original) they were treated like Rock Stars by Georgia Championship Wrestling and the fans, as well. A "bad boy" group Rock, Rock Stars, but still. Arn As the saying goes, "be Horsemen is not just a job, it is a mindset and a way of life. "Although Flair was the leader, the four of them were equal in the group, the individual personality of each compliment the other to create a unique synergy that has never been duplicated elsewhere. Flair, the strutting peacock with the fiery, colorful promos, Tully Blanchard, the cocky kid overachieving, Arn Anderson, calm and oh so eloquent assassin with cold eyes, Ole Anderson, who threatens to derail the brain behind the group, which boasts a aura of absolute evil. All four of them, so different, but each was master of the promotion fight. Get one or even in pairs and they seemed not particularly dangerous, but as a unit to which he was a unit, evil and very intelligent, the proverbial "machine well oiled, like a pack of wolves circling a victim. Malenko and Benoit are also famous for their phenomenal fighting skills as they are for their lack of "personalities". Put bluntly, not enough of them have been colored, or had the charisma to be real Horsemen. Flair is unique, but Blanchard and Anderson were skilful enough to cope with Flair on the mic. Malenko and Benoit were not and they have degenerated by "thugs" roles, WCW had uttered as they were originals. Success? To be sure, it was Flair group. The original Four Horsemen could stand toe-to-toe with anyone (in the ring and on the mic) as wrestlers and personalities. They were more than match for Hogan, Hall and Nash. Malenko and Benoit had no charisma and mic skills, and pushing this incarnation of the nWo Horsemen cons would have seen the original riders who came up short as the fans on the side of the nWo very entertaining, instead of Flair and OL boring "acolytes. Even if there had not had an nWo, Malenko and Benoit in the group have already done (for fans) Flair and his Henchmen. They could always have been the top in WCW stable but it would Flair was the show and not the Four Horsemen.
