What is the male dress code in Malaysia?
Specifically in Penang.
I’m curious as all the information seems to just have rules for females.
I’m a reasonably tall 17 year old and I would basically seem like a young adult man visiting. Are singlets OK? Should I just stick with T-shirts and shorts all the time or would singlets be allowed? I haven’t seen any warnings for wearing them so I’m assuming it’s OK but I’m going to be there in a few days and I’d like to make sure I’m not despised by the locals 
Any other relevant dress code information for males would be great also as I really haven’t been able to find a word on the dress code that wasn’t about women.
For male, or female for that matter, not much dress code is applied in Penang. As a male, you can wear anything you like as long as it does not contain anything which might insult the locals such as a bad slogan or whatever. Singlets are fine. Of course, nudity isn’t allowed. That’s about it.
