Mexican Wrestling
An old shaft recently rediscovered sheds new light on a long-abandoned Mexican mine site.
Yale Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: YLL) in an ongoing sampling program at the copper mine of La Verde Grande in north-western Mexico, has revealed mineralization of skarn a gallery of about 80 meters south of the entrance to the main mine.
This adit, running east-west, was considered as nothing more access, "said president Ian Foreman. With mine workings tending north-east, the discovery of mineralization widens the potential deposit in three directions.
More intriguing, however, is a tree about 50 meters in. Yale crews measured up to 80 meters without touching substance.
In an interview, Foreman suggested the maypole is described in a report from December 1919, with a depth of 370 feet (112 meters), passing through a body of ore 50 feet, with evidence of mineral showing in the last 125 feet and, more significantly, with evidence of sulfides.
"We have not seen a single grain of sulphides in all gears and all the samples we took," Foreman said, which suggests that the historical maypole opened an ore body intact.
The depth is not enough to have been a hindrance to mining. "There are many cases where the Spanish go to water table," he said. But when they hit the sulphides, "they have not have the technology to get the gold and silver in the rock. "
Even one or two centuries later, the Hermosillo Copper Company, who worked the mine in the early 1900s, have been arrested.

Shallow wells on the site have been explored by someone hanging from a rope, Foreman, but balks at the idea of sending anyone down to 80 meters or more.

The Great Green is the largest of the six historic mining sites within Yale La Verde Project, 45 kilometers northwest of Hermosillo, Sonoro, Mexico. Work Sampling moved to La Grande Verde those other sites.
The project covers 2640 hectares, and in a constant search to define a deposit multi-million tonne open pit mine, Yale, recently acquired another 440 acres in the northeast corner. The new property contains a porphyry target Large – The Sierrita Porphyry – with anomalous copper, zinc and molybdenum values, drilled in 2000 by Freeport McMoRan.

Work is also ticking along on three other projects, Yale Mexico. On the property owned by Carol in southern Sonora State, results of comprehensive analysis of a wide-spaced sampling ended in July need to appear before Yale can refine its exploration area.
The company has tested a large body of skarn measuring 1,100 meters by 400 meters in the south of the property. The Carol property is approximately 6 km north of Frontera Copper Corp. Piedras Verdes mine, with proven and probable reserves of 191 million tonnes grading 0.36% copper.
Yale won its 65% stake in the company Zacatecas in the Zacatecas Silver District in central Mexico. The finalization of the joint venture agreement with IMPACT Silver Corp. (TSX-V: IPT) is now in the hands of lawyers, Foreman said. If the documents are finished by December, Yale will return to work on properties in the new year.
With a funding of 1.25 million completed at the end of August, Yale has enough money for now to keep everything current job. "We're well up that spring, "Foreman said.
