What are your thoughts on WWE plans to release a Best of WCW DVD Nirto?
WWE provides a Best of WCW Nitro DVD in 2011. WWEDVDNews reports fact that the WWE plans to do a Best of WCW Nitro, Seasons 1 & 2 set to be released more in the future.
It seems interesting see "best of" compilation of a promotion that trampled the WWF in the ratings for two consecutive years, but one thing will keep this DVD series … … to be as good as it should be: Vince McMahon. Vince is the production of this series of DVDs. He had nothing to do with production and those Nitro have (Bischoff, Hogan, Nash, Russo, etc.) will have absolutely no say in what will be included on the DVD, or have any say in what comments are included in them. This, like all DVD WWF / E, is produced by Vince McMahon, and Vince will be the version of the WCW (and Nitro) was. It will be interesting Vince, despite everything, but it will certainly and obviously support the WWF, where he can. Better, and infinitely more accurate would be to release unedited, uncensored, UN-altered and full episodes of Nitro, with nothing added, such as DVD sets, two or three months per set. In this way, there is Vince no-polarization, or revisionist history of Vince, and clouding things away viewers. Here's an idea. Every so often Vince could release a DVD set of new episodes, uncensored, and not altered in two Nitro and RAW, containing all the episodes of both shows (and nothing new added) for a certain period of time, say two months of shows in each series. This way, viewers would see the shows as they originally ventilated, without prejudice or Vince-revisionist history of Vince. We would like the opportunity to see highlights and steaming piles two companies produced during this time, and fans can make their own opinion, without Pro-Vince Vince heavy slant on things. I'll probably buy the Best Of Nitro sets, but I prefer see shows by far unreleased uncensored and complete with nothing new added.
