you would need a timing light. Auto zone sells them and MIGHT lend them out. They”re easy to use, just put the sensor wire on the number one plug wire and shine the light on the crank pully where the timing tab is. then loosin the retaining bolt on the distributor and rotate it to advance or retard the timing. just keep an eye on the timing mark on the pully
